Strikers Jacques Cyubahiro and Robert Ngunga are undergoing trials with league champions Rayon Sports after being released by APR and La Jeunesse FC respectively."They are on trials with us, and if they impress the coach and he recommends that we sign them, then we will give them contracts,” the club Secretary General, Olivier Gakwaya told Times Sport on Friday.Gakwaya said Rayon will not sign any player from outside of the country. The official noted that the league champions already have a good team, which only needs a few adjustments to be able to defend the title."We have a very good team, and we hope the players will fight even more (than they did last season) now that they are the champions and everyone wants to beat us,” he added. He said players Cedric Amiss and Kambale Salite Gentil known as Pappy Kamanzi, who finished last season as first and second top scorers in the league, are hungry to do even better.Amissi joined the club in January but went on to score 16 league goals, a record for any mid-season signing.Meanwhile, the Blues’have given up on signing Burundian international striker Abdul Razak Fiston after talks with his parent club Lydia Ludic broke down due to disparity in the player’s valuation."We will not sign him, not because he is not a good player but the cost. His club wants a lot of money to release him,” Gakwaya acknowledged without giving details regarding the amount of money being asked.
