La Jeunesse Football Club has pulled out of the 2013/2014 national league season due to financial problems, Sunday Sport has learnt.

According to the club chairman, John Ntwali, the Nyamirambo-based youthful side has dropped out of the league due to lack of enough funds to keep them in business but promised the team will come back next season but in second division.

"We will not take part in next season’s league because our sponsor will not continue to support the team and since we have been caught an aware, it’s hard for us to compete without sustainable financial base,” Ntwali revealed on Friday.

La Jeunesse follows other teams like KIST, Electogaz and Atraco FC that pulled out of the top flight division because their financiers pulled the plug off the cash flow.

For the last three seasons, La Jeunesse was sponsored by Euro Trade International but the company decide to pull out their sponsorships duo to the own financial problems.

As a result, the youthful side has released all players so that they can look for other teams.

The official added, "We will come back next season after re-organizing ourselves properly because right now we don’t have where to start from.”

"Euro Trade International, who were our sponsors, notified us about their intention on August 5, which was too late to find another sponsor in time before the start of the new season (on September 21),” he explained.

La Jeunesse’s place in the 14-team league could be taken by Etincelles, who was relegated last season along with Isonga FC, whose own feature remains in balance.
