The government has  requested the Expanded Joint Verification Mechanism (EJVM) to visit Rubavu to verify effects of a rocket bomb that  landed in the district from a Congolese area controlled by FARDC.According to the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), a 107mm rocket landed in an urban area of Bugu Cell in Cyanzarwe Sector at around 1pm yesterday and caused damage to property. "Today’s bombing was completely unprovoked and senseless,” said the military spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Joseph Nzabamwita, in a statement issued last evening. Yesterday’s bombing came barely a month after the Congolese army, FARDC, fired two bombs in Kageshi and Gasiza Cells of Busasamana Sector of the same district on July 15. Rwanda protested the July 15 bombing which caused no damages since the bombs landed in open areas.Investigations conducted by EJVM, a regional monitoring team, confirmed the deliberate shooting by FARDC into Rwandan territory.
