Skipping meals will not chop the weight!

The person who came up with the theory that if you miss a meal a day you will actually lose weight misguided people. Communication packages in form of campaigns or sensitisations regarding this matter should persuade people otherwise. I have seen several young women miss meals all in the name of losing weight without realising that they are putting their health at risk. It’s weird how they actually notice the weight gain but don’t ask themselves why.   I will partly blame the media for portraying beautiful and sexy women as slender. If the media extensively allocated its time in offering the solutions to acquiring such bodies, maybe these young women would not be starving themselves. Several health experts have proved that when one skips meals, they are likely to face unhealthy circumstances such as blood sugar dropping, inadequate nutrition and altered metabolism. Tracey Roizman D.C, the author of ‘What Effect Does Skipping Meals Have on the Body?’ advised that skipping meals is a technique frequently used by dieters and those who feel constrained by busy schedules. If you fit into one or both of those categories, you may wish to reconsider the meal-skipping habit. The author further showed that skipping meals like breakfast stresses your brain and body and can lead to chronic health conditions. Skipping meals, particularly breakfast, can wreak havoc on your blood sugar levels.I will say that most young women in the age bracket of 20-35 decide to skip meals as a strategy to lose weight.  These working class individuals spend the whole day at work and don’t want to exercise with the excuse that they are so busy. To make matters worse they avoid the stairs and use the lift in the building because they grasp for air each time they try to use the staircase to go to the second floor of their work place.  I’m not stereotyping the young women in anyway but they are the culprits to such unhealthy behaviours. It’s hard to see a young man miss a meal all in the name of losing weight. If I was to be paid a dollar for every young woman who has missed a meal every day, I would be a millionaire. But if the same was said for young men, I would stay broke. When a young man is not comfortable about his weight he will instantly hit the gym. Therefore my sisters I wish to signoff saying that taking long walks in the evening on your way home is far healthier than foregoing lunch.
