Prices of peas have shot up by Rwf200 in all city markets. In Gikondo, a kilogramme of peas goes for Rwf1,500 from Rwf1,250. Traders attributed the increase to low supply. A medium-sized cabbage costs Rwf600 from Rwf500 in Nyarugenge Market a week ago. Passion fruits cost between Rwf1,300 and Rwf1,400, while that of tree tomato is at Rwf600 and mangoes go for Rwf1,500 a kilo in Kimironko Market.A kilogramme of Irish potatoes costs Rwf250 in Nyabugogo and Kimihurura markets. Maize flour costs Rwf670 a kilo in Nyarugenge and Nyabugogo markets and sugar is at Rwf800 a kilo. Rice goes for between Rwf700 and Rwf900 in Kicukiro Market. Tomatoes cost Rwf700 a kilogramme, while carrots are at Rwf550. Groundnuts are stable at Rwf1,200 per kilo.
