Health ministry launches Rwf 300 million boat ambulance

The Ministry of Health has today launched a boat ambulance worth Rwf 300 million on Lake Kivu. According to the health minister, Agnès Binagwaho, the ambulance will serve people living in inaccessible areas of Rusizi, Karongi, Rutsiro, Nyamasheke and Rubavu districts.

The Ministry of Health has today launched a boat ambulance worth Rwf 300 million on Lake Kivu. According to the health minister, Agnès Binagwaho, the ambulance will serve people living in inaccessible areas of Rusizi, Karongi, Rutsiro, Nyamasheke and Rubavu districts.

The ambulance is a donation from President Paul Kagame. The launch is part of government's efforts to bring health services closer to the population and to reduce infant as well as maternal mortality in the country.

The ambulance will be free of charge for the mutuelle de santé subscribers.
