The Government of Rwanda is in talks with Babilaks Construction Limited, a Turkish construction company under Babil Group to build a 40.000-seater stadium in Kigali, Times Sport understands.According to the Director of sports in Ministry for Sports and Culture, Emmanuel Bugingo, despite starting talks, both parties have not yet reached the final deal.He said "We are still in talks, nothing has been agreed yet but the talks are going well so far. The Government of Rwanda and Babilaks Construction Company have not yet signed any contract. We are still at negotiations stage.”The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding for the project on May 28 this year.According to Mustafa Cem, the International Development Officer at Babilaks, the stadium project and its surroundings will be among the first successful public private partnerships in the country.Mustafa said "Babilaks promises to deliver a first class and beautiful stadium meeting International standards.”The official pointed out that the company chose Kigali to host its African headquarters because of its safety and the favourable environment for investment provided by the government of Rwanda.The Babil boss said that his company emphasises the high-quality service; the stadium project at Gahanga will also include a manmade lake, Park, Hotel, conference halls, shopping mall and other various training facilities.The group of companies, operating in the areas of tourism and construction since 2004, operate under the brand BABIL GROUP.
