On to the topic of cyber flirtation

So I went home last month for a short holiday. I was very saddened by the evil that has befallen my family but that is not the point. The devil has attacked the entire generation under the “technology” guise. I am not even kidding.

So I went home last month for a short holiday. I was very saddened by the evil that has befallen my family but that is not the point. The devil has attacked the entire generation under the "technology” guise. I am not even kidding. The use of mobile phones in my own home is alarming, but hey, haven’t statistics shown that Africa is the fastest growing continent in the use of mobile phones. I do not even know how to feel about this, especially with the awareness that my two year old brother can help himself to the "talking tom” application on his mother’s phone instead of learning his ABC!On to more important issues, a Facebook friend posted "WhatsApp is a mini sexual network” I found this rather fascinating because I knew exactly what he was talking about but with the fear of misinterpreting what I thought was a good topic for discussion Iwent on to ask him what he meant. His response was rather heartbreaking but it brought me to the realisation that consciously or unconsciously we have at one point found ourselves hopelessly flirting with people on these various social networks. Now, it is okay for you to sit there and deny, after all, I do understand that these days a polite gesture can be misunderstood as flirting but deep inside you are aware of what your intentions were. That said I want to point out that I appreciate the convenience associated with these social networks but I also want to say that you have to be very careful when WhatsApp becomes an issue in your relationship.Rose came crying to me last weekend about her boyfriend. This is the problem. Rose has been stalking her boyfriend on WhatsApp. She says goodnight to him at about midnight but then when she wakes up to say good morning to the dude, he was last seen at 3:30. But wait, WhatsApp better fix that or some of you are bound to stay single for the rest of your lives. And what is this business of boys asking for nude pictures in the middle of the night. Again Rose is a hypocrite because she told me of her secret admirer who asks her for nude picture. Let me summarise this- stop with the sexting. If you are in a relationship do not flirt on WhatsApp or Viber or whatever other applications are out there with bored men and women, you will get dumped!
