Rwanda youth volleyball team has secured the second friendly win against Fenerbache Volleyball Club ahead of the Junior World Championships which start on August 22 in the Turkish cities of Ankara and Izmir.
Paul Bitok’s U21 team won 3-0 on Tuesday, which follows another win by a similar scoreline against the European side in the first warm-up game played on Sunday.
The junior team is scheduled to play a third build-up match against IBB Volleyball club on Friday, and then against ARKAS Volleyball club before finishing against Izmir volleyball club (both no dates have been set) before the making their debut in the world championships.
Rwanda is in Pool C with the 2011 bronze medalists Serbia, USA, Tunisia and Canada.
Defending champions Russia are the most successful country at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship level having won eight titles followed by Brazil with four titles.
