The Rwandan community in Morocco, together with local authorities are currently searching for a 22-year-old Rwandan student who has been missing since August 2.Lindsay Girberto Ntawuryiha’s disappearance was confirmed by the head of the Rwandan students’ Association in Morocco, who said in a statement that he was last seen travelling to Casablanca on August 2."The search started on August 6 and we have been looking among both Rwandan and Burundian communities and all has been in vain,” reads a communiqué signed by the head of the students’ body, Albert Ndayambaje.Ntawuryiha shares a house with seven other students in Settat, a town located between the two major cities of Casablanca and MarrakechForeign affairs ministry, Rwandan embassy in Dakar, Senegal and the ministry of education have also been informed."We briefed our embassy in Senegal and they are currently working with the Moroccan Foreign Affairs ministry to help in the search,” said Parfait Gahamanyi, the Director General of Diaspora Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.He said that his office got the information about the missing student on Sunday. Sixty three Rwandan students study in Morocco on a government scholarship.
