Editor,Following the second massive expulsion of Rwandans from Tanzania by the same government of Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete shows extreme "xenophobia” within the ‘Socialist State of Tanzinia’.The late President Milton Obote in 1980-1982 expelled Rwandans who had lived in Uganda since 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s but he died still regretting this inhumane act he did against Rwandans at that time. This is the same tragedy Jakaya Kikwete is inflicting against Rwandans who even have their sons and daughters that have contributed to the economy of Tanzania. Kikwete’s acts are against African values of brotherhood, unity and cultural, family ties and lineage.I pray that may God/Allah unfold xenophobia that has characterised Tanzania leaders to the extent that it has affected regional integration initiatives. We appreciate what the Rwandan Government is doing to receive and resettle those expelled by fellow Africans.Bruce Ruhetamyambi, Kigali, RwandaReaction to the story, "Govt reassures Tanzanians as Kikwete kicks out Rwandans”, (The New Times, August 9)
