The remaining matches in the national volleyball league will be played next month, the chairman of the sport’s local governing body, FRVB, Gustave Nkurunziza has said.The four matches were postponed due to the U21 national team’s participation in the forthcoming World Championships in Turkey.They include; National University of Rwanda against Lycee de Nyanza and Grouo Scoraile de Butare as well as Kigali Volleyball Club versus Lycee de Rusumo and INATEK.Nkurunziza said, "We are yet to confirm the dates but we want to have the league matches in September, while the Playoffs and Carre d’As tournament hopefully in October.”The four teams that are most likely to qualify for the men’s playoff tournament include; the defending champions APR, eight-time league winners National University of Rwanda, INATEK and Lycee de Nyanza.In women category, playoffs battle will be between Rwanda Revenue Authority, who are in second place against fourth-placed St Alloys, while the champions APR will meet third-placed Ruhango.The winners in both categories will represent Rwanda in next year’s Africa Club Championships.The reason to fix the remainder of the season in September and October was to allow the junior national enough time to prepare for this year’s World Junior Championships set for August 22 to September 1 in the Turkish cities of Ankara and Izmir.
