Heineken Rwanda, on September 9, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BK Arena to become its official beverage partner.
The partnership paves way for a new and better experience at BK Arena, and both parties are set to benefit from it.
In Rwanda, Heineken beer is produced by Bralirwa Plc, the largest producer of beers and soft drinks in the country.
According to Etienne Saada, Managing Director of Bralirwa Plc, partnering with BK Arena will make the two companies win together since they share the same values and life enjoyment concerning sports and entertainment.
"We are starting with a three-year period and we are very happy and excited to take the challenge,” he said.
Saada also noted that their company had already signed a partnership with the National Basketball League which takes place at BK Arena, for their Cheetah energy drink to become the competition’s beverage partner.
He declared that they are also planning to launch a new product and will use BK Arena’s space to announce the ‘good news.’
During the event, a Heineken’s VIP suite located at BK Arena was also unveiled, decorated in the beer’s green and white colours. According to Saada, different people will be invited to it on several occasions to celebrate, chat and have fun.
Kyle Schofield, Director of QA Solutions, a firm which manages BK Arena said, "I believe that today’s partnership is the mark of what we are going to achieve and it’s really the tool that is needed at BK Arena to finally set itself as the hub of sport and entertainment in Africa.”
He noted that partnering with a strong brand like Heineken is something that is close to their hearts, adding that they want to showcase it to Africa where it’s possible.
He added: "We invite you to be part of our journey. Know that this is your home. This is where we can celebrate. This is where we will push our agenda and will achieve everything we have set up to achieve.”
