If you haven’t voted for your favourite contestant, then it is a little too late and, as we write this, the auditors of Primus Guma Guma Superstar, PriceWaterHouseCoopers, perhaps already know who the winner of season three is.This afternoon all roads lead to Amahoro National Stadium where the winner of the Bralirwa-sponsored annual music competition will be announced after a hectic three months of music performances which saw six of the contestants drop out.Five of the eleven contestants remain and, the winner will be revealed today based on, among other things, vocal abilities, popularity, judges impression and public votes garnered throughout the competition. The five remaining contestants, namely, Riderman, Knowless, Urban Boys, Mico ‘The Best’ Prosper, and Dream Boys, will battle it out for the grand prize of Rwf24m courtesy of Bralirwa.Throughout this week, the contestants have been rehearsing and conducting interviews in preparations for the grand finale. The panel of judges consisting of Kenya-based Burundian crooner Kidumu, Canada-based Rwandan musician Mighty Popo Murigande, Aaron Niyitunga and Aimable Twahirwa, will play a vital role in determining the winner. Their judges vote accounts for 70 per cent.During the live shows, the judges would reward marks to each of the performances and compile them before handing them over to the audit firm. So who is taking the money?Judging from the performances and popularity during the entire shows, it would be fair to conclude that the money is between Riderman, Urban Boys and Knowless though you cannot completely rule out Dream Boys.Among the remaining five, only Mico Prosper is the surprise package remaining in the show. But at this point, it is hard to imagine that Mico will make it to the top three and if he does so, then the Afrobeat singer will be living the proverbial nine lives of a cat.Debates have been raging with some people putting their money on Knowless having made it this far and as the only female contestant still in the running. However, if comments on social media is anything to go by, she is behind Riderman and Urban Boys who are head-to-head. In general Riderman remains by far the favourite to walk away with the money.Music lovers have been busy with their phones voting their favourite contestants. At the moment it remains difficult to tell since the Judges’ decisions remain a top secret,This time there will be no international artiste to perform on the grand finale but it is expected that music lovers will be given a treat by the contestants. Previous winners Tom Close and King James are expected to perform at the grand finale.Fireworks will crown the event while drinks and food will be in abundance. Entrance is free but VIP seats will go for Rwf5000 each.
