This year’s Peace Cup against Malaria semifinalists Bugesera have appointed Mohamed Ntibategwa as their coach for a one-year period.

The Bugesera-based second division side, who were denied promotion to the top flight division by Gicumbi FC, have tasked the incoming coach to make sure the team qualifies to the top flight division next season.

Bugesera, formerly called Imirabyo, became the first second division team to have a player (Michel Ndahinduka) in the national team. The player would later join APR FC.

Talking to Times Sport yesterday, Bugesera District Mayor Louis Rwagaju, who doubles the club honorary president said, "Ntibategwa’s primary task is to take the team to the top flight football division next year.”

He said that as club management, they don’t hold any grudges against former coach Bugesera recently knocked newly crowned Primus league champions Rayon Sports from the Peace Cup against Malaria in the quarter-finals.
