Editor,I have always had a great wish for our country to have something that I had called "National Food Control System” with mandate to regulate the different food products on Rwandan market (both locally-produced and imported).

It is a very big risk for a country to trust these food products without proper mechanisms to test their compliance to national/international standards.I am very happy that the government has finally put in place Rwanda Foods and Medicine Authority. I am Rwandan with MSc. in Food Science and Nutrition and I have been in this field for quite some time.
