The sweet sound of music and yummy aroma coming from Caiman Bar and Restaurant, on Sunday afternoon, suggested that people at the venue were really having a great moment.Every Sunday, Caiman hosts a culinary tasting and last Sunday the restaurant served patrons with live entertainment and a dining experience.Patrons were treated to a special Brazilian barbeque featuring different types of meat prepared in carnival style. The grill was weighed in kilos and a kilo of mixed grill of pork, chicken and beef was sold at Rwf14000, half a kilo went for Rwf7500 and a quarter kilo at Rwf4500.According to Kanobana Rutembesa, the proprietor of the restaurant, Caiman offers an opportunity for people who want to dine away from home by preparing for them special dishes. Caiman Bar and Restaurant, named after South American crocodile specie, offers the fresh food and your taste buds will agree. The hangout perched right on one of Kigali’s beautiful hills in Kibagabaga, had its humble relaunch a few months ago. The refurbished restaurant, has a seating capacity of 200 people.Live performanceThe event started at 3pm and Francois Mihigo Chouchou’s band, Ingenzi, put on a splendid show for the revellers at the venue. The band performed a number of songs in French, Lingara and Kinyarwanda.Some of the songs they performed include, "La Danse Des Magiciens” and "On va s’amizé” by Magic System. The band also performed Zulu dances and other traditional dances.The band comprised of 12 artistes including three female singers. Ingenzi band performs at Virunga in Nyarutarama on Wednesdays, Fridays at Kigali Serena hotel and Saturdays at Executive Car Wash.In an interview with The New Times Chouchou, the band’s frontman, said; "I started my musical career a long time ago. It is a thriving industry and when taken seriously is highly rewarding and it has provided a livelihood for me and my family.” Some of his songs include, "Mama”, "Umulisa” and "Umuziranenge” among many others.
