KAMPALA - The National University of Rwanda volleyball team trounced Uganda 3-0 to set up a dream final with South Africa at the ongoing 5th All African University Games taking place in Kampala.

In the game played at Logogo Indoor Stadium on Saturday, Eric Nsabimana and Benjamin Kangabo led the inform NUR team against the hosts after chalking up the same score against Tanzania and S. Africa.

Rwanda’s only huddle to claiming gold now remains South Africa, a side they defeated earlier in the preliminaries.

"Our form is simply good and nothing is stopping us” noted a beaming Fidel Nyirimana ahead of today’s final.

Meanwhile the track and field events began last evening where Rwanda’s Jean Batiste Uwiringiyimana (5000m) and Anicet Taraja Mukiza (100 and 200) were expected to be in action.

Others, Aphrodis Sindayiheba, Vincent Munyeshyaka and Joel Sabimana were to compete in the 400 yesterday and today’s 400*4 respectively.

The Games will climax on Wednesday, July 16.
