Three people have been arrested in connection with last Friday’s grenade attack in Nyabugogo, Police said at the weekend. Theos Badege, the Rwanda National Police spokesperson, said the trio will assist Police with investigations. The explosion, which occurred at about 6:50pm, last Friday, at Nyabugogo abattoir, commonly known as "marathon”, killed three people, two of whom died on spot while another succumbed to injuries at hospital. Badege also said six of the 32 people who were injured were still admitted, with five at the University Teaching Hospital of Kigali and the other at Rwanda Military Hospital in Kanombe. ‘Stay calm’Police has appealed to the public to remain calm and conduct their usual businesses as investigations continue to bring to justice all those responsible for the deadly act. Badege appealed to the public to work closely with Police and report any suspicious activity to security agencies.  "We call upon the general public to collaborate with us in providing any information that will help police to do its work,” Badege said.A grenade attack in March on the Kimironko taxi park left one person dead and eight wounded. The latest of grenade attacks in the country, which have mostly targeted busy areas of the capital shortly after nightfall, began in 2010.The attacks have typically been carried out at bus stops or in markets.There have been some arrests and convictions but it remains unclear who is behind the attacks.
