RWANDA Volleyball Federation has signed a two-year cooperation agreement with their Tunisian counterparts seeking to improve the standard of the sport in the country.The Rwanda Volleyball Federation chairman, Gustave Nkurunziza, told Times Sport yesterday that the agreement will mainly focus on preparing the national teams through training camps and training of coaches among other activities."This cooperation is very vital in the development of our players, teams and sport in general. With Tunisia having partnerships with Italy, this would be another way for our national teams to play against elite teams from Europe,” said Nkurunziza.In the agreement, Rwandan national volleyball teams will have a chance to secure friendly matches against Tunisian teams by only meeting airfare costs while other needs will be catered for by the hosts and vice versa.The vice chairman of the Confederation of African Volleyball, who also doubles as the  Tunisia Volleyball Federation chairman, Mounir Ben Slimane, said the initiative was realised after the Rwandan youth and junior teams qualified for the World Championships early this year."Rwanda has been progressing well and staging good performances in different African competitions and we are glad to offer our support in ensuring that their teams play high level volleyball,” added Slimane.The volleyball federation is among sports federations that have partnered with elite countries to help improve the level of sports in the country.
