In the vibrant music scene of Rwanda, an emerging talent has been making waves with her soulful melodies. Nice Utakaliza, a young artiste who started her musical journey professionally in 2018, has already begun a journey to leaving an indelible mark on Rwanda’s music industry.
With her debut EP "Madaah" released in July, she takes listeners on a nostalgic journey into her past, while her brother, who manages her, helps pave the way for her future success.
Her journey into music started at a young age, and her passion for the art form was evident even during her childhood. As she grew up, her family and friends lovingly called her "Madaah," a name that has now become the symbol of her artistic identity.
In July, she released her debut EP titled "Madaah," which holds a special significance as it reflects her childhood nickname. The EP is made up of four songs namely ‘Down’, ‘Away’, ‘motion’ and ‘no games’.
Now under the management of her brother, who was inspired by Nice’s love for music, he recognized his sister's exceptional talent and commitment to her craft. Together, they embarked on a journey to turn her passion into a professional career. Under her brother's astute guidance, Nice's career is steadily gaining momentum.
"I am committed to continuously exploring my artistry and remain dedicated to creating music that resonates with my listeners while sharing my authentic Rwandan culture with the world. With her eyes set on the future, I envision myself among the biggest artistes in Rwanda and widespread recognition throughout East Africa within the next five years”, said Nice.
With a blend of afro beats, pop, dancehall, soul, and R&B, Madaah is on track to become one of East Africa's biggest artistes within the next five years. She is set on a path to conquer Rwanda's music scene and gain recognition across East Africa.
