Editor,ALTHOUGH I sort of agree with all the concerns you raised, especially regarding how dangerous those buses are, let’s recall one thing: development is a process and you might have to wait a little before you see every single aspect of your life benefiting from it.This is the case for public transportation: if the City of Kigali doesn’t do much to switch from those commuters to more comfortable and reliable buses, it is probably because such a change will tremendously drive up transport fare. Not sure the purchasing power of Kigali people is high enough to afford commuting in the coasters you want.The bottom line is: yes, those commuters are far from convenient; however, the price of investing in those coasters might be too high at the moment. And if Kigalians can’t afford them ,chances are that illegal transportation means will develop, increasing insecurity on roads and chaotic traffic in town.
