National disabled champions Hermas Cliff Muvunyi and Theoneste Nsengimana departs tonight ahead of next IPC Athletics World Championship which get underway next week in Lyon, France.The Rwanda National Paralympic committee (NPC) has tasked the two Paralympian to compete at their best and win medals at the world championship according to NPC president Celestin Nzeyimana."What we want from them is to win medals. They are experienced athletes despite being their maiden debut in the world championship but the experience gained at last year’s London Paralympic Games is enough to help them stage successful performances in the championship,” added Nzeyimana.Muvunyi holds the record for the fastest African Paralympian over 400m after clocking 49.75secs at the 2012 London Paralympics Games.The 22-year old Muvunyi who recently had a three-week training in Athens, Greece last month before returning to Rwanda on June 27 will compete in the 400m and 800m respectively.Since June 27, Muvunyi has been training with his compatriot Nsengimana at the amahoro national stadium while camping at Heroes Corner motel located in Remera.Muvunyi said,”I am fit for the World championship. I had enough physical and tactical preparations with our coach Eric Karasira and I am determined to lift high our country’s flag,”"The nation should count on us for a better and triumphant representation. We are well set for silverware in France,” added Muvunyi.The 25-year old Nsingimana who qualified for world championships last year in Paris, will compete in the 1500m. He also competed in the last year’s Paralympics in London.
