It is essential to ensure transparency in public procurement, especially during the opening and evaluation of bids, to avoid complaints from unsatisfied bidders, and also encourage fair competition, Frank Muvunyi, a procurement expert, has said.
"This deters corrupt tendencies and collusion between contractors and procurement entities,” he said during a training workshop for public procurement officers last Friday.
