Dear editor,

Reading in your paper this week, I saw a story about the minister in-charge of East African Community, Monica Mukaruriza urging Ngoma leaders never to relax but follow up pledges made by various visiting officials.

My appeal is that people who willingly pledge cash or any form of assistance to certain groups or districts should always take it upon themselves to meet their pledges.

Otherwise, it just undermines ones’ integrity whenever you hold back a pledge you made out of your own initiative.

The habit of holding back pledges is common especially among politicians, during campaigns, but they should style up.
