Dear editor,
In The New Times of Thursday, I read a story that eight people had died in a motor accident in Rubavu, the second in the province within a space of one week.
This is unbearable. The two accidents were linked to failure of the braking system. Traffic accidents should be given the same attention like diseases.
Sensitisation of people and allocating the police more resources can reverse the increasing trend of such accidents in the end.
The police should also ensure that all errant drivers are arraigned to answer for their actions, while ensuring that the vehicles do not return to the road. There should be zero tolerance to errant drivers.
