A kilo of millet flour costs Rwf1,200 and that of maize flour is at Rwf600. Beef costs between Rwf2,000 and Rwf2,200 per kilogramme, while fresh fish is Rwf2,000 a kilo in Kimisagara and Kimironko markets. A kilogramme of bananas costs Rwf190 and a tray of eggs is at Rwf2,000 across major city markets. A five-litre jerry can of cooking oil is Rwf6,000, while a 600-gram bar of soap is at between Rwf700 and Rwf900.Sugar has remained unchanged costing between Rwf750 and Rwf800 per kilo in all major markets and shops in Kigali. A kilo of groundnuts costs Rwf1,200 and that of beans is Rwf450 on average.
