The U21 volleyball national team will play two warm-up games against the senior national team and National University of Rwanda on Saturday and Sunday respectively.The games are part of the junior team’s preparations ahead of this year’s World Junior Championships set for August 22 to September 1 in the Turkish cities of Ankara and Izmir.The U21 team trained together for three days last week and they left the camp on Monday to join their respective schools and they reported back to camp again on Thursday.The intensive training is expected to start on July 26. Last week, the youth side played against a select side made up of national team players and some from the league, which the former won 3-2.According to the team’s head coach, Paul Bitok, the players returned to camp on Thursday and will play two friendly games then return to school."We need to prepare early for this tournament as we try to raise the level of the players, we will continue to have more warm-up matches against local teams as we prepare for the world event,” said the former Kenyan international player.Bitok confirmed that the team will play two friendly matches against the senior national team and National University of Rwanda.Rwanda, Africa’s bronze medalists, were been drawn in Pool C alongside Serbia, USA, Canada and Tunisia.
