Champions Espoir continue the defence of the national basketball league title against the 2012 winners Kigali Basketball Club at Kimisagara Youth Centre courts on Saturday evening.It will be on fifth day of the 2013-14 league season and on the same day, former champions APR will play against United Generation Basketball Club.On Sunday, Rusizi will host 30-Plus, CSK play with Espoir, while United Generation Basketball will host Kigali Basketball Club at Kimisagara.Espoir coach Jean Bahufite said his team is determined to continue from where they finished last season, "We will continue where we finished last year, we need to be as consistent as we were last season, and I am positive we would.”Last weekend, Espoir, who won both the regular season league title and the playoff trophy, beat 30-Plus 91-63, while the 2009 champions, Circle Sportif de Kigali beat another former winners, APR 63-58 in Over Time.In other matches, UGB beat 30-Plus 58-30, KBC won 71-64 against CSK, and APR dominated 30-Plus 75-57.In the women category, two games were played and the champions APR overcame Ubumwe 53-40 and 46-37 in the first and second games respectively. Meanwhile, Rwandan referee Didier Shema Maboko was named to be a part of the referees for this year’s Afro-basket for men championships due to start in Ivory Coast in August.
