Impala Orchestra rocks Musanze on Liberation Day

Impala Orchestra on Thursday evening entertained hundreds of Musanze residents as part of the liberation day celebrations.

Impala Orchestra on Thursday evening entertained hundreds of Musanze residents as part of the liberation day celebrations.Old members of Impala Orchestra, Mimi la Rose, Alexandra, Marceline Uwase joined the new band members. Also present was Dieudonne Munyanshoza well known for his liberation songs. The well attended concert featured inspirational liberation struggle songs in Kinyarwanda, Lingala and Kiswahili. Songs like Anita, Rea, Amavubi, Twararutashye, Intsinzi sent the crowd dancing.Marceline Uwase, who joined the orchestra 20 years ago, sang a few Lingala songs. She said the band rehearsed for the show in the Northern Province town."I started singing in Impala a long time ago and I am still here. The secret is to love the profession and always rehearse together. We do our best to make our fans happy. The band recently returned to the country from Belgium where they have lived for over a decade."We are very happy to have Impala here; they are talented singers and they are an inspiration to us as we celebrate Liberation Day. We have been properly entertained,” said Bosco Munyakazi, a resident of Musanze.The organisers of the concert and the proprietors of La Colombe, one of the most popular bars in Musanze town, said they intend to invite Impala to entertain customers and the community in general again.
