Part of the audience at the MTN Kings of comedy

It was all laughter and fun as the ‘MTN Kings of Komedy’ returned for the second season in two shows that took place at Gikondo Expo Grounds tent on Friday and at Kigali Serena Hotel on Saturday.Apart from Eric Omondi who did not show up for the Gikondo show, the rest of the comedians showed up and boy oh boy, they managed to make the audience giggle until they couldn’t giggle anymore. To spice up the evening, Ugandan rapper Navio crowned it with an amazing Hip-hop performance. The event kicked off with home boy Arthur Nkusi and Uganda-based Rwandan comedian, Ronnie Nsengiyumva, who was the emcee. He, however, could afford his own jokes and sure the audience loved him.Nkusi, aka Rutura also proved that he was not bullied by his more senior peers including Fred Omondi, Patrick Idringi Salvador, Alex Muhangi and Anne Kansiime. The KFM presenter confidently managed to put across a few jokes before making way for Muhangi, the man who calls himself the funniest Mukiga alive. The jolly Muhangi, who maintained a smile through the performance, literally cracked people’s ribs with his high school and village escapades. After Muhangi, it was time for Fisher Museveni, the new kid on the block imitating the Ugandan leader Yoweri Museveni.Apart from bearing a striking resemblance to Museveni, Fisher knows how to speak and act exactly like the Ugandan Head of State, a thing that left comedy lovers mesmerised. It was then time for Kansiime to claim the stage. The girl from Kabale never ceases to amaze and she proved that she is a force to reckon with in the comedy industry.Kansiime, who became popular through her Youtube and Minibuzz videos has become a household name in Rwanda and her most recent performance proved that she has not only mastered the art of comedy on camera but also on stage. To crown the evening, Salvador started off where others had stopped, sending the audience into wild chuckles with his Ombokolo stories and toilet escapades. You will not take it away from the Telecom Engineer-cum-comedian and radio presenter. He has gone international. Salvador also proved that he could also sing a little bit.Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, Navio, the KlearKut man took the microphone to perform his songs ‘Ngalo’, ‘Kata’ and several of his collaborations. In the end, both evenings were full of fun and entertainment. The Kings of Comedy show will be taking place after every two months. Few lucky winners from the audience won gift vouchers to shop at Nakumatt.Apart from the main sponsors MTN, both shows were sponsored by Skol, Bank Populaire du Rwanda, Air Uganda, Kigali Serena Hotel, Nakumatt, The New Times, KK Security and Pergamon Group.
