Atraco Fc head coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira believes his side has one hand on this year’s league title and he has already started to plan for life in next year’s Africa Champions League.
Ntagwabira told Times Sport on Tuesday that after losing out on the MTN Peace Cup, Atraco can take heart from the fact they have the league title in the own hands.
The taxi-men side is seeking for their first silverware since their promotion to the top flight division during the 2005/06 seasons.
"It was disappointing to lose the Peace cup but that is a bygone now. Our focus is to win the league title this time.
"The league title is a must win for us. We have three more matches left and we need to win two and we’re champions,” noted the former APR coach.
Atraco still has to play two of the top four teams in Rayon and Kiyovu. Military is the other fixture while APR still have to play Police, Rayon and Mukura.
Ntagwabira last tasted continental fame during his spell at APR wants to bring pride to Atraco by taking the taxi-men club to next year’s continental biggest club championship.
And he is already planning for life on the continent next season by booting several string players so as to give room for new signings.
Atraco were beaten 4-0 by archrivals APR in the MTN Peace Cup last Friday which consequently guaranteed the military side a place in next year’s Confederations Cup.
Atraco lead the national league table with 50 points, four better than second placed APR from 19 league fixtures.
