A Total of 806 students yesterday graduated with degrees in various disciplines from the Institut d’Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri (INES). The Rector of the Higher Education Institute of Ruhengeri, the Rev. Fr. Déogratias Niyibizi, congratulated the graduates for the commitment they exhibited during their studies. He said INES has played a role in helping the country to get engineers in land-related issues and in other domains. "This fourth graduation ceremony is special to INES-Ruhengeri since, for the first time in its history and in the history of Rwanda, 117 trained land surveyors are passed out. This is a tremendous contribution to finding solutions to many land-related challenges in the country,” he said. Fr. Niyibizi urged the graduates to play a role in the development of the country and urged employers to look to INES for quality graduates. "Those who need to build infrastructure should come and get employees from our institute because we have a variety of qualified people,” he said. Slyvie Nyiraneza, a graduate of Enterprises Management, said she was happy with her achievement despite the numerous challenges she went through during her studies."I have worked hard and strived for success. This is my real day, a day of joy and relief. It is also a time to thank friends and family for their moral and financial support,” she said. Isaie Mbonyinshuti, a graduate in Public Administration and Governance, attributed his achievement to hard work.According to Dr Innocent Mugisha, the executive secretary of the National Council for Higher Education, INES Ruhengeri impacts positively the surrounding population.Dr Mugisha encouraged the university to plan courses that are relevant to market labour demand. "As you join the labour market, demonstrate your capability.
