Last Thursday 20 young people received skills in writing proper Curriculum Vitaes (CVs) under a program by Akazi Kanoze, a local not-for profit organization.Funded by USAID, the training also saw the youths engaged in mock job interviews and were exposed to resources that imparted them with work-readiness skills.Speaking to the Education Times at the start of the training in the American Embassy in Kacyiru, Mikerlange Remplait, Communication Coordinator of Akazi Kanoze, said that the training provided the youth ages 14-35 with market-relevant life and work readiness training and support, hands-on training opportunities. "We are working to increase the livelihood opportunities for Rwanda youth and develop a thriving youth livelihood support system,” said Remplait.Following the workshop, the youth participants toured the Information Resource Center at the embassy and had the opportunity to apply for a library card to gain access to the center’s 4000 books that are available in both English and French. "This training has helped me gain skills in starting a project. Hopefully, if all goes well and I graduate from university I will be better positioned to succeed,” said Fernand Kayitare, a trainee.
