Jitters as visitors arrive at Mandela’s family gravesite

Capetown. As uncertainty remains regarding the medical condition of anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela, a few cars were seen at his family gravesite in Qunu according to the Mail and Guardian.

As uncertainty remains regarding the medical condition of anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela, a few cars were seen at his family gravesite in Qunu according to the Mail and Guardian.According to the report, his relatives also called an urgent meeting at his rural homestead in Qunu to discuss the first South African black president’s health.In the morning, doves were released outside the hospital to symbolise the freedom that Mandela brought to South Africans and in an apparent plea for peace in the country in case he dies.All this is happening as Mandela, 94, battles for his life in a Pretoria hospital where he has been admitted since June 9, with a lung infection. This is his fourth hospitalization since December last year.The Nobel Peace Prize winner is due to celebrate his 95th birthday on July 18.According to Mail and Guardian, his ex-wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, grandson Mandla Mandela, Public Service and Administration minister Lindiwe Sisulu and United Democratic Movement leader Bantu Holomisa are among those who arrived in Qunu on Tuesday for the meeting.
