Jean de Dieu Mukundiyukuri has become the second Rwandan to qualify as beach volleyball international referee after finishing on top in 19 candidates in a week-long course, which was held in Khartoum, Sudan last week.Mukundiyukuri follows in the footsteps of Vedaste Ntanteteri, who was the first Rwanda to get those credentials.The course, which began on June 5 to 11 at the Development Centre in Khartoum, had eight referees accredited with Mukundiyukuri coming on top.The high level course attracted 18 participants from 11 national federations including; Uganda, Libya, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, Ghana, Sudan, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Palestine, Chad and Sierra Leone."This is just the start of a long journey for me and I am looking forward to represent my country and the local volleyball fraternity with pride,” the former St Joseph and Kigali Institute of Education setter, Mukundiyukuri said.
