AL FASHER. Veteran coach Gilbert ‘Yaounde’ Kanyankole is set to quit Burundi Premier league side Vital’O for Rwanda where he reportedly has offers from Rwanda Football Federation and Primus league clubs.Speaking exclusively to Times Sport on Monday in Al Fasher, Sudan, Kanyankole said, "I have many offers in Rwanda from the country’s football federation and one or two Primus league clubs.”"I have no contract with Vital’O that can stop me from leaving any time I get a better offer, but I am still thinking about some of the offers and the best suitable working conditions,” noted the former Rayon Sports coach. When asked to clarify the exact offers he has received from Rwanda, Kanyankole said, "I have talked to SC Kiyovu, they have what they requested from me and their conditions and after this tournament, I will give them my proposal and if we come to an agreement, I will take the team over.”"Also, I have talked to officials in the football federation (Ferwafa), who have proposed me an offer in technical development, but nothing has matured yet,” added Kanyankole.Kanyankole previously coached Rayon Sports before relocating to Burundi where he guided Vital’O to a number of league titles and regularly qualified for the CAF Champions League. This year, he helped them oust 13-time Rwandan league champions APR in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League. With Kiyovu financial struggles reportedly close an end, Kanyankole could be a good replacement for interim coach François Kalisa who helped the team finish in eighth position in the league with 34 points.
