DEFENSIVE midfielder Johnson Bagoole has left Primus league champions Rayon Sports and signed a two-year contract with Kenya Premier League side Sofapaka.The Ugandan international played a major part in Rayon’s win at their first Primus league title in nine years. His contract is due to end on July 4. Bagoole also featured for APR (two spells) and Atraco FC."Bagoole is a utility player who can virtually fit in any position on the field. He can play both as a midfielder or a defender,” Sofapaka tactician David Ouma said.Bagoole follows in the footsteps of former Ugandan midfielders Musa Mudde and Hakim Ssenkumba who also played for ‘Batoto Ba Mungu’.Bagoole becomes the second footballer to leave the champions after upcoming goal keeper Marcel Nzarora joined La Jeunesse in a two-year deal before the Blues left for Darfur for the on-going Cecafa Kagame Club Championship.
