Former Rayon Sports striker and now assistant coach Busa Kombi Billy is keen to win the 2013 Cecafa-Kagame Cup 15 years after winning it as a player in Zanzibar.
The DR Congo-born coach was a key striker for Rayon when Blues became the first Rwandan club to win the regional club championships.
Speaking to Times Sport ahead of today’s opening game against Electric Sport of Chad, Kombi Billy said, "We can win this tournament because we have good players and a good coaching staff, but on a personal level, I want to win to as a coach as I did it when I was a player.”
"I believe that we can win this tournament, because we have been unstoppable this year, we are hoping to take our (fine) form into Cecafa.
"With teams like Yanga and Simba as well as El Merrick and Al Hilal plus Tusker pulling out, it gives us (Rayon) and APR a good chance to try and win the tournament, which is sponsored by President Kagame,” he noted.
Kombi Billy played for Rayon Sport from 1993-1999 before he joined Les Citadins (AS Kigali). He returned to Rayon as assistant coach in January this year.
