Over 40 students from four different schools visited the The New Times Publications to familiarise themselves with the news making process. The students were from Lycee de Kigali, Lycee Notre Dame de Citeaux, G.S Ruganda and G.S Kacyiru and they visited in two shifts accompanied by two teachers. During the visit the students were given a guided tour around The New Times’ and Izuba Rirashe newsrooms.  They got to learn what constitutes news, how it is collected, prepared and presented plus what roles different personnel play in the process. "I am sure they have learnt a lot from this tour. Even the teachers have learnt something. For example I did not know the difference between a cameraman and a photojournalist,” said Elizabeth Ndinda one of the teachers who accompanied the students. ‘English Access’ is a programme sponsored by the US Embassy in Kigali that seeks to help promising students from disadvantaged families to improve their English language skills through different events and trainings.
