Fresh beans prices have dropped from about Rwf600 to between Rwf450 and Rwf500 in major markets in Kigali.Uwineza Agnes, a trader in Kimironko Market attributed the decline to oversupply.Elsewhere, prices for other commodities were unchanged compared to last week, with a kilogramme of rice at between Rwf700 and Rwf900 in most markets across the city. A kilogramme of fish costs Rwf2,000 in Kyemisagara Market, while beef is also at Rwf2,000 in Kimironko Market. Millet flour costs Rwf1,200 per kilo and maize at Rwf600. A tray of eggs is at Rwf2,000 across major markets, bananas cost between Rwf180 and Rwf190 and Irish potatoes Rwf220 per kilogramme. A five-litre jerrycan of cooking oil is at Rwf6,000 and a 600-gram bar of soap costs between Rwf700 and Rwf900. Sugar costs between Rwf750 and Rwf800 per kilo in all major markets in Kigali and groundnuts are at Rwf1,200 a kilogramme.
