The Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye flew to South Kordofan on Sunday with a high powered Sudan delegation from Khartoum to ensure that nothing hinders the tournament. The officials unperturbed by reports that the City had been shelled by rebels, urged people of Sudan and elsewhere in the region, who "believe in peace”, to ignore the reports and attend the matches as the "security was tight”. Musonye said that people, who had pulled out their teams and later wanted to return, were desperate and would do anything to sabotage the event. According to the organisers, Kadugli is gearing to host their ever first international event.Musonye had earlier in the day held a lengthy meeting with Governor Ahmed Haruna and the LOC at the new 25,000 seater venue which will host the opening match between El Hilal Kadugli and URA of Uganda. Already seven teams have arrived in Sudan as Cecafa declined the re-application of Tanzania and South Sudan sides to be included in the fixtures. In El Fasher, Governor Mohamed Yousuf Kibir was also preparing the two venues which will host Group A and B matches with effect from tomorrow.
