Dream Boys reach out to the crowd.

As the Primus Guma Guma Superstar season three road shows continue, each contestant is desperate to prove they have what it takes to win this year’s music competition. On Saturday, all roads led to Gicumbi stadium, where the 11 PGGSS contestants treated residents to thrilling performances and they did not fail to impress the crowd with their songs. It was an afternoon of fierce competition, as each contestant in the ongoing music competition, poured their hearts and souls out on stage to impress the crowd. Judging by the audience’s reaction, Riderman and Urban Boys stole the show, as they wowed the packed venue with excellent stage performances."It was a fantastic performance,” Jean Pierre Ndayisaba, commented after seeing Riderman perform. "He is such a talented musician and his stage performance was excellent.” "I am a big fan of his music and I know almost all his songs. I’m very excited that I got to see him perform. I want him the win the Primus Guma Guma competition because I think he has what it takes to win,” Ndayisaba added.Riderman is definitely more comfortable compared to last year’s competition, where he was eliminated in the early stages. Such songs as, "Umwana w’ umuhanda”, "Igitende’, "Urutenderi”- along with his famous hit "Bomboli bomboli” garnered the biggest responses of the show."I’m happy the public is enjoying my performances. That’s a blessing from God,” the rapper told The New Times after his performance. "I try my best to give my fans the best of me. As much as we all wish to win this competition, there will definitely be one winner and I won’t be disappointed if I don’t win because I’ll have done my best,” said Riderman, quite convincingly. In  flattering bling, and dressed in casual outfits, Urban Boyz staged quite a show. The trio treated the audience to a special performance, with a medley of some of their favourite hits including, "Bibaye” and "Take It Off”. In a lovely and engaging twist, the boys mesmerised the crowd with their melodious vocals and energetic dance moves.Eric Senderi, who was the first act on stage, also proved his ability, alternating between singing, dancing alongside his two female dancers or running to the crowd. Senderi’s confidence was palpable the entire show and it’s definitely the best of him I’ve seen yet in a live setting."I am very confident and I know that I’ll win the competition. The only contestant I’m afraid of is Riderman, because he is a great performer and I wouldn’t be surprised if he won,” the confident Senderi said in an interview. Also hard on stage was Kamichi, who delivered a smooth performance with his hit songs, such as "Aho ruzingiye and Imitoma”, which saw the singer, wander into the crowd when he wasn’t dancing on stage.Dream Boys tried to show  mature vocal execution and stage performance. The duo started off with a very cool, calm and collected performance but still managed to captivate the audience at the venue. Yet despite his strong vocals, things did not go well with Christopher as some revellers booed him on stage, with some even showing him the middle finger.Other contestants, Bull Dogg, Danny Nanone, Fire Man and Mico Prosper also struggled to deliver but did not seem to impress Gicumbi music lovers.Knowless, the only female contest wowed the crowd, especially girls, with her rendition of, "Nzabampari.” Tom Close, the winner of PGGSS1, made a pleasant surprise appearance and brought the crowd down, as he joined Knowless, Christopher, and Dream Boys in their collabo, "Kanda amazi”.The live road show, with a panel of four judges, will take place in Kigali on June 29, followed by Muhanga, Musanze and Rubavu, respectively.Primus Guma Guma Superstar, PGGSS, is an annual talent contest to find the best musician across Rwanda.
