The fresh draws were done on Friday in Khartoum.The 2011/12 Primus league winners APR maintained their spot in Group A where they face uneasy draw against hosts Merreikh El Fasher of Sudan, Vital’O of Burundi and Elman of Somalia.The only challenge that the military side may face is the Burundian club Vital’O, who eliminated them in this year’s Africa Champions League.Archrivals Rayon Sports, who won their first league title in nine years, were placed in Group B alongside Ugandan champions Express FC, Ports of Djibouti and Electric Sport of Chad.Group C which will be based in South Kordofan has three clubs namely; Al Hilal Kadougli, Al Ahly Shandy all from Sudan and Uganda Revenue Authority.The top two teams in each group and the two best third-placed from group A and B will qualify to the quarter-finals.Possible titanic clashThe local rivalry between APR and Rayon Sports will be the centre of attraction in El Fasher if the two teams progress to the quarter-final on June 26.The two-week long competition which will end on July 1 will see the winners sharing the $80,000 prize money staked by President Paul Kagame and Mr. Mwangi from Tanzania.APR FC have won the Kagame Cup title three times in 2004, 2007, 2010, while Rayon Sports have won it once in 1998 in Mwanza.
