The Ministry of Health has today appointed a new Director General for Butare Teaching University Hospital (CHUB), replacing Dr André Musemakweli who has been at the helm since 2010.

Last Friday, Minister Dr Agnès Binagwaho appointed Dr Augustin Sendegeya as the Acting Director General for the Huye-based referral hospital.

Sendegeya, an Otolaryngologist (ear-nose-and-throat specialist), boasts of a ten year experience at the hospital where he has been heading the Otolaryngology Department since last year.

The appointment came only a day after Minister Binagwaho slammed the hospital staff for poor hygienic conditions and sanitation.
