Gen Kazura to head UN mission in Mali

Maj Gen Jean-Bosco Kazura was yesterday chosen to head the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (Minusma).
Kazura, who was Deputy Force Commander of the African Union in Darfur before the deployment of peacekeepers, was chosen after emerging the best following an interview. He was interviewed together with a candidate from Chad.
"General Jean-Bosco Kazura will head the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Mali, Minusma. Proud of my brothers of Rwanda Defense Forces,” wrote Rwanda's Minister for Foreign Affairs Louise Mushikiwabo on Twitter.
According to the UN, their diplomats "recognise that Rwanda Defence Forces is among the most efficient and disciplined army on the continent".
