Microsoft has unveiled the new X-box called X-box One. After game lovers waiting for about 8 years, (since 2005) the zeal was almost done when the console was released. This console using the next-gen landscape is an awakening call to Sony and Nitendo who are its major competitors. The goodYes, the design is great but this console has a lot more than just the sleek and large design. The X-box One includes games, TV, movies, music, the Web, and apps. It has Skype and live TV capabilities for people in developed countries of course – not Rwanda TV as yet – as well as voice recognition to switch between programs, new gesture recognition, and the ability to operate multiple programs at the same time. But guess what? The console can identify and log you in to your favourite games and apps. The bad David Calvin Musoni, a Rwandan living in the USA who has been able to get it, says he was very upset with the X-box One."Consoles are for games, and they didn’t show anything important about them. As a gaming machine they should focus on that. The necessity of having a kinect attached is also annoying. The fact that the system is making it mandatory to be connected to the internet makes it even worse,” he says. "Not one gamer I know minds pushing a button to turn on their console. So the voice recognition wouldn’t be a plus to me. All this, mixed with the new regulations on used games and having to pay even to just loan a friend a game might hurt their positioning in the console market.”SpecsUnder the hood, details so far include an eight-core processor and graphics made by AMD, 8GB of RAM, Blu-ray, USB 3.0, HDMI in/out, and a 500GB hard drive. Besides all of this, Microsoft is promising a new operating system fusing X-box and Windows.
