Renowned Rwandan international referee Salma Mukansanga will be at the helm of affairs on Thursday, July 27, when Portugal take on debutants Vietnam in Group E in the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.

Mukansanga, who is one of Africa's best referees, will be the centre referee of the game at the Waikato Stadium in Hamilton. She will be assisted by Mauritian Queency Victoire as first Assistant referee, Kenya's Mary Njoroge as second assistant referee while Anahi Fernandez will be the fourth match official.

The 34-year-old made history in 2022 when she became the first woman to officiate in the AFCON when she handled the game between Zimbabwe and Guinea during the AFCON 2021 finals held in Cameroon.
She was also at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar where she was the fourth referee during the match between France and Australia.
Group E of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup consists of the United States, Vietnam, the Netherlands and Portugal.
