The National football league resumes with giants APR and Atraco facing crucial tests this afternoon at Nyamirambo stadium respectively.
This year’s national league title favorites Atraco hosts Electrogaz at Nyamirambo stadium at 1300. The taxi-men side that have the last resort of winning the league title to enable its participation in next year’s African Champions League must defeat minnows Electrogaz to be in contention of winning their first major silverware in top flight.
Atraco stands top on the league table with 47 points in 18 fixtures played but has a game in hand against Rayon Sport while Electrogaz which will be yearning for maximum points to enable its stay in the national league stands on seventh position with 19 points.
Defending champions APR lies second on league table with 43 points but has a game in hand against Police.
The military side is already assured of representing Rwanda in next year’s African Confederation Cup after their MTN Peace Cup 4-0 dramatic victory over Atraco last week.
APR’s league title victory would see the country’s football giants take part in next year’s African Champions League where they failed to reach the lucrative stages of the championship this year on the hand so Egyptian Zamalek in the preliminary stage.
In other fixtures, Rayon Sport hosts relegation battling side Military at Mironko stadium, Kibuye plays away to Marines at Umuganda stadium, Police hosts Mukura at Camp Kigali grounds and SC Kiyovu hosts relegated side Etincelles at Mumena.
