Kigali Cricket Club registered their first win in the ongoing Computer Point T20 on Sunday after beating a youthful side, Victory CC by 5 wickets.
Contributions from Andre Kayitera 52 runs and Desire Manirambona 31 runs helped VCC to post a total score of 138/5. Although this was a relatively big score KCC batsmen chased it down with 8 balls to spare thanks to Harish Patel and Pravith, who scored 39 and 37 respectively.
In the afternoon game, Dugout CC lost to Indorwa CC after they batted first and posted a low score of 124/6. This was attributed to the failure of DCC star batsmen Eric Dusingizimana and Joshua Mwanja, who failed to put up a good show.
Indorwa’s Nayan Patel damaged DCC bowlers and hit an unbeaten 49 runs not out to win the game. He was later declared the man of match.
On Saturday the Women’s Computer Point T20 2013 saw Queens of Victory take on Kigali Angels in a thriller. KACC batted first and posted their biggest score of 110 all out in 19.3 overs. Sarah Uwera was the most outstanding batter with 36 runs.
A young and talented Raphael Ganimana had the best bowling figures of 3 wickets for 18 runs. QVCC batters showed their class after they won the game after losing only two wickets.
The Computer Point T20 will run until June 30 when the finals will be held at the Kicukiro cricket oval.
